About The Doctor
Dr. Machen is a lifelong resident of Louisiana and moved to Zachary in 1986 after completing a residency in Orthodontics at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. He also earned a Masters of Education degree at the University of New Orleans.
Dr. Machen is a member of the Louisiana Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Louisiana Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, selected as a Top Dentist in America, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (a distinction that only 20% of orthodontists nationwide achieve)
While attending dental school he met Carline, his wife of 30 years, who is a Dental Hygienist. They have 3 wonderful children, Katie, Luke, and Tim who are all pursuing careers in health care.
Dr. Machen is active in church and in his spare time is an avid fly fisherman, usually in his kayak in the South Louisiana marshes. He also enjoys cooking, fly tying, and banging around on a piano.
He feels blessed in being able to do something he loves so much and working in such a comfortable environment with dedicated associates and spending time with nice patients who invariably become friends.
